Hanna Coene

President

Meet Hanna!

She is a senior in the College of Nursing. She wants to be a nurse because she wants to be able to help mothers in under served populations by making them feel safe, educating them, and talking them through the miracle of birth. In her free time, Hanna enjoys pettin’ her dog, watching Harry Potter, and calligraphy-ing. Something that not many people know about Hanna is that she has been skydiving and would love to experience that again some time. To Hanna, BSO means that she always has a smiling face to wave to while walking down Wisconsin Ave. It means that she can weeb out and drink excessive amounts of boba without being judged (sometimes) and that she has a true family here in Milwaukee that is beyond supportive and loving and help her through the thick and thin. This year, Hanna is looking forward to being able to give back to the people who made her the person she is today!

Alyssa Sanchez

Vice President

Meet Alyssa!

She is a joyful, energetic, optimistic senior studying Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Biomechanics! She finds that this major is a good cross between technology and the medical field. She wants to be able to design, create, and dream-up something that improves people’s quality of life and livelihood. It also requires her to think outside the box and forces her to use her left and right side of her brain. In her free time, Alyssa likes to dance, play piano, and watch Netflix – she has been a dancer for ~18 years, a pianist for ~17 years, and a Netflix enthusiast for ~college years. Outside of BSO, Alyssa also works as a wellness peer educator, a university info specialist, a math/literacy tutor for children with autism and down syndrome, has volunteered at the cancer center at Aurora Sinai, & was on HYPE her freshman year (S/O to @hypedancemke). Something that not many people know about Alyssa is that she’s currently learning how to rollerblade. To Alyssa, BSO is like a bunch of people coming together to build a home. She loves Marquette, and her experience here was strengthened ten-fold because of BSO. Marquette is a house for her, but thanks to the people inside of BSO, they have made this house her home. This year, Alyssa is looking forward to seeing what good we can do this year and how loud af we’re going to be!

In his free time, Quin enjoys playing basketball, dancing, ‘Draking’, and he claims to be a part of the Illuminati and the Big Baller Brand. Something that not many people know about Quin is that some of his knuckles are not very prominent, so his hands “kind of look like baby hands”. To Quin, BSO is a community of friends and family just trying to have a good time, get cultured, and make memories at high volumes. This year, he is looking forward to seeing the growth of general members, his fellow E-Board members, and the organization as a whole! #RootedInGrowth

To Walter, BSO means having a family around him and a support system of friends that has helped him expand his horizons and do things he never thought possible before coming to Marquette.  This year, Walter is looking forward to his last Fashion Show because it was such a spectacle his freshman year when he first saw it, so it being his last one is going to be “v sad and all”. He is also looking forward to retreat because that event is always the senior goodbye. It scares him how fast it will come up for him, but says he will still be so happy for the time he has left and is excited to get to know the new people coming into the organization this year!
